Rudy Brnjac, Sr.
Inducted - Minneapolis 1979

Rudy Brnjac was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.  At the age of 14, he began his tamburitza career.  With his first tamburitza group, he performed for the St. Louis Cardinals' Baseball Club.  Rudy is the only original member of the group actively playing today.

During the past 48 years, Rudy has played with the original Plavi Dunav Orchestra of St. Louis, the Continental Tamburitzans, and presently with the Croatian Sons' Orchestra.  His present orchestra has made several recordings and are planning to release a new one within the year.  At one C.F.U. bowling tournament, Rudy was labeled the "Croatian Singing Troubadour".

Some highlights of Rudy's career are appearing with the ever-famous Dave Zupkovich in Pittsburgh and singing with the Croatian Cowboy from St. Louis, Guy Mitchell.  Rudy's past and continuing tamburitza playing bring joy and reminiscences to all.
