Nomination Procedures
 
The Lou Cavic Founder's Award is presented each year to a young person who demonstrates an outstanding devotion to the preservation of tambura music and the Slavic culture.  The award recognizes a musician who --
 
 
  

Demonstrates technical accomplishment on primary instruments.
   
     Has a comprehensive familiarity with Slavic music.    
     Is a past or present member of a musical organization (junior group, working band, adult orchestra, school band, etc.).    
     Has participated on recordings.    
     Teaches or assists other musicians.    
     Writes or arranges music.    
     Continually strives for self-improvement as a musician through education.    
     Is an effective role model for young musicians.    
     Participates as a member in Slavic-related ethnic and cultural organizations.    
     Is younger than 30 years of age.    
 
Nominations should include the name, age, and picture of the candidate.  A discussion of the candidate's background should describe how the musician meets the guidelines documented above.
